I passed through KTH and TMON, spent about 3.5 years aging at Kakao, and am now still growing as a data engineer at KakaoBank - a slightly odd, middle-aged guy. For the past few years I’ve focused on CDC (Change Data Capture), and I’ve grown interested in handling the flow of data in a way that’s natural and flexible.
In the end, my goal has been to build a data ecosystem shaped like the diagram below, and I’ve been filling in the missing pieces one by one until most of it is now in place - data flowing in a virtuous cycle, inside a system that never breaks!
This blog is where I casually record and share the trial and error I’ve been through, the things I’ve agonized over, the criteria behind my technology choices, and the data technologies I’m keeping an eye on.
